We are a family run business based in Falkirk, the heart of Scotland’s central belt. Alex and Giovanna are both originally from Orkney. Giovanna grew up in Italy but spent many summers in Orkney, where Alex was brought up. We both have a very strong connection to Orkney and the sea which inspired the name The Croft and Creel. The Croft and Creel is a synonym for seafood and steak and also reflects the style of food that we offer.
Alex and Giovanna have worked in the catering industry since school, with Alex choosing to study catering at college. We have had a lifelong interest in food, catering and hospitality and have worked in a number of hotels, bars and restaurants over the years. We finally moved to Falkirk and took over Pierres in 2005 from the previous owners. For the past 15 years we have kept the name as Pierres before deciding to rebrand to The Croft and Creel in 2020.
We have a strong passion for fresh produce all of which is sourced locally. Our menus change weekly (sometimes more often) as we like to vary our dishes. We specialise in steak and seafood but also offer vegan and vegetarian options, as well as our famous Sunday roasts. We cater to any special requests, so if you know what dish you want we’ll do our best to source it for you. We source our meats locally from Malcolm Allan and our game from the Highlands and Borders.
